Responsible gambling
Gambling is for adults, and it should never be a way to make money.
Adults only
Gambling is only for people aged 18 or over. In some places the legal minimum age is higher — for example 21 for some forms of gambling in parts of the United States — so check the rules where you live. Gambling by anyone under the legal age is not allowed.
Safer gambling
- Decide in advance how much money and time you will spend, and stop when you reach the limit.
- Only gamble with money you can afford to lose — never with money for rent, bills or food.
- Do not chase losses, and do not borrow to gamble.
- Avoid gambling when you are upset, stressed or have been drinking.
- Use the tools licensed operators commonly provide, such as deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.
Warning signs
Spending more time or money than intended, chasing losses, keeping gambling secret, borrowing to gamble and thinking about gambling constantly are common signs of gambling harm.
